Starting a Hypnobirthing business of your own is not only an incredible way of spreading the word that childbirth can be incredible but can also become a flexible way of earning money doing something rewarding.
Where do you start though, when thinking about becoming a Hypnobirthing Instructor?
I’ve broken down 5 steps to launching your own Hypnobirthing business, even if you have never done it before…
Take a pen and paper and list the many benefits of bringing Hypnobirthing to more parents. Think of this for the pregnant women and birth partners you’ll work with, PLUS the benefits to your own life too.
Getting focused on your motivation in this way will decrease the fear that is so natural when doing something new. As I say to my students “Make the mission bigger than the fear”.
You might think about how Hypnobirthing will allow women to enjoy their pregnancies more with decreased fear and greater opportunities to bond with their bump. How powerful the tools are however birth happens and add to that how these tools are often used way beyond birth. Bringing the power of influencing mindset and having calming tools to more families. I could go on and on, but I’ll let you enjoy thinking about these possibilities.
Choose a trainer that you relate to and importantly do your research, not all Hypnobirthing training schools are created equally.
Be sure to choose a course where you know you’ll gain more than just a certificate to teach Hypnobirthing. Be curious about what business building support you’ll get, whether there are ongoing fees, what resources you will be provided with and check you’ll have access to guidance beyond the training period.

I know it can feel tempting to put this off, beavering away with the learning side of things, waiting for the “right” time.
However, after supporting hundreds of women to start their Hypnobirthing businesses, I can tell you that those that get it out into the world earlier, start earning earlier too.
Think of it like the trailer before the movie comes out. You are simply giving people a peek of the wonderfulness of what’s coming. And it gets to be easy.
If you’ve got any form of social media post on there “I’m training to become a Hypnobirthing teacher! I’m doing this because…” and tell them why you are passionate about this.
If you’re more of an in-person kind of person, drop it in to as many conversations as you can. When people ask what you’ve been up to lately, let them know your exciting news.
Ultimately, when people know about what you are starting, they are bound to have conversations about it, and you never know who’s listening.
With the right training you’ll be able to learn around whatever your circumstances are. The key is planning at least one pocket of time each and every week. Keeping that momentum will ensure you are making consistent and will encourage better retention.
Always remember that even experienced Hypnobirthing Teachers look at their notes from time to time so the aim is never memorising everything.
Keep those pregnant women that need your services in your heart and mind.
Those hypnobirthing businesses that get off to a successful start prioritise their ideal client. They think about what the dream clients they’d like to attract are feeling. They take time to think about the level of service they desire and how they can word the advertising of it in a way that speaks to them.
Focusing on your ideal client also decreases distraction from the noise of what others in the Hypnobirthing business world are doing. Your business is catering for your Hypnobirthing clients, what anyone else is doing isn’t your concern.
Doing so not only increases your chances of success but also ensures that you're making a positive impact on the clients who resonate most deeply with your services. This client-centred approach lays a strong foundation for long-term growth and makes for so many more recommendations.
