Are you wanting to get bookings on group Hypnobirthing courses this year?
I hear you! When I first started my Hypnobirthing business, as much as I loved working one-to-one with clients, my intention was to have a birth business with consistently full groups.
I wanted that bustling atmosphere that comes with groups and I really wanted my clients to get the extra perk of meeting other expectant parents too. Plus, I knew it would be a more profitable use of my time. As a mum of young children, this was super important to me.
Unless you’ve got a massive following of pregnant women eagerly awaiting your next course you are going to benefit from advertising group courses 6-12 weeks in advance. I honestly wouldn’t go any less than 6 weeks. This gives you time to promote your Hypnobirthing groups and makes it more likely that those that enquire don’t already have plans on your dates.
Tell people how many places are left. E.g. ‘Just 4 places remaining’
This encourages people to take the plunge now rather than waiting until later (and potentially talking themselves out of it). When potential clients think they have all the time in the world to book, they often procrastinate. Be helpful, add a layer of limited availability and it will help them make time to make the decision now rather than sitting on it for weeks. They feel good for making this commitment to themselves, right?
If they have to message you 4 times, fill out a long form, dig out their online banking login to pay you, you are making it too hard.
If they can click a button to save their spot at 2am, you’ve nailed it.
Utilise simple technology like PayPal, Ticket tailor or Eventbrite to allow clients to book and pay with ease. Complexity looses bookings.
Saying on Instagram once or twice that you are running a group Hypnobirthing course in May is announcing it, not promoting it. You want to be telling people FREQUENTLY about the course and importantly what it will do for them.
Think about how you can get your course seen by the right people. What different places can you build awareness and it what different ways?
They asked you a question about it. Then they went quiet. You tell yourself that they don’t want a place.
When actually life happened, they got distracted.
Get into the habit of following up with everyone that gets in touch. E.g. “Hi (name), How are you doing? I wanted to see if you are still interested in joining my May group Hypnobirthing course. If you have any questions, please let me know”
As the saying goes ‘the fortune is in the follow up’.
Details of my next free event ‘Teaching Hypnobirthing, is it for you?’ is here. Come along and see behind the scenes of training with us.
