You’ve had a great experience with Hypnobirthing. It’s changed the way you see birth, maybe even the way you see yourself — and now there’s a quiet whisper (or a loud nudge!) urging you to pass it on.
But then the doubts creep in.
“Could I really teach this?”
“I’m not confident speaking in front of people.”
“I don’t have a background in teaching or in maternity services.”
First, take a deep breath lovely one. These feelings are completely normal- in fact, almost every Hypnobirthing teacher I’ve trained has felt them too. Let’s grab a cuppa and talk through some of the most common fears together.
You don’t need to be a loud, extroverted person to be an amazing Hypnobirthing teacher. In fact, some of the most loved Hypnobirthing Instructors are quiet, calm, and empathetic, just like Hypnobirthing itself.
What helps:
Good news: you don’t need to! Our students and graduates come from a huge range of backgrounds We have trained accountants, beauty therapists, engineers, police officers, carers, scientists, social workers, and even party princesses (No joke!). Of course we do train teachers, midwives and Hypnotherapists but having a background like this really isn’t vital.
All you need is PASSION. Passion to support others to have more empowered birth experiences.
What helps:
I hear you! Please hear me when I say that this one is so common. But remember, you’re not standing on a stage - you’re sitting in a cosy room (or Zoom call) with people who are genuinely interested in what you have to say. Think of it like a chat with a good friend. You can do that, right?
What helps:
Flexibility is one of the biggest benefits of being a Hypnobirthing teacher. You can run your business part-time, evenings, weekends- whatever suits your life. It’s your business, its your rules.
Many of the women that come and train with us at Love Your Birth have busy lives. Many are doing this around a family, a day job, another business (or even all three!). It’s doable and our training and ongoing support is designed to support this flexibility.
What helps:
Please know that this feeling comes from fear rather than a lack of potential.
There are no guarantees when starting something new, but I know that with our unique mix of thorough instructor training, business building guidance and ongoing support, you really are stacking the odds of success in your favour.
Do remember just how many expectant parents need Hypnobirthing. They are fearful of birth, lack understanding and support. Make the drive to help these people bigger than the fear.
What helps:
A decade ago, I had these fears too. I could have easily not done it and yet I’d have missed out on so much.
Teaching hypnobirthing has brought so much satisfaction, freedom and flexibility to my life. As a busy mum of four, this has been incredible for our whole family unit and continues to be to this day.
Becoming a Hypnobirthing teacher isn’t about being fearless- it’s about trusting yourself enough to take the next step, wanting to help and being ready to learn.
If you’re feeling the call…I’d be honoured to support you.
